Siqueiros influence

Muralist, David Alfaro Siqueiros traveled from Mexico to Los Angeles in 1932 to escape the heated politics in Mexico. He taught classes and painted murals in the Los Angeles area. Reuben was his assistant for a large mural, Tropical America, painted on an outside wall of the Italian Hall on Olvera Street in Oldtown Los Angeles. Siqueiros was impressed by the Kadish-Goldstein mural in the John Reed Club. He invited them to paint a huge mural in Morelia Mexico. His powerful style greatly influenced the two young artists.
